NECC is seeking to fill a full-time Health Assistant/ Nursing Assistant (CNA) position. The Assistant will work under the administrative supervision of the team coordinator and the clinical supervision of the health services team.  The primary responsibility is to provide medication administration to students following established policies and procedures.

  • Monday - Friday: 7:30AM-3:30PM OR Tuesday-Saturday 2pm-10pm

Health/Nursing Assistant Responsibilities
  • Provides medication administration for assigned teams under delegation of the team primary care registered nurse during all medication times as designated.  Training will be provided for medication administration and maintenance per the Massachusetts School Health regulations. 
  • Organizes and maintains medication closets and first-aid supplies. 
  • May need to assist team members with taking students to medical appointments, which may include driving to appointments.   
  • Participates in weekly staff meetings and supervision meetings with directors.
  • Participates in assigned tasks such as cleaning of student space, or maintenance of medical equipment to assist in department function and for regulation compliance.    
  • Serves as a medical liaison between clinical staff and primary care nurses.   
  • Works collaboratively with direct-care, clinical and administrative staff.

Health/Nursing Assistant Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and personal transportation    
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma    
  • Preferred experience working as a Personal Care Attendant and/or CNA but not required.    
  • Successful completion of NECC orientation course which will provide all training specific to NECC.  
  • Computer skills necessary, proficiencies in reading and writing
  • Basic CPR certification of Adults, Children, and Infants (ARC or AHA); maybe completed by NECC. 
  • Willingness to work with children/young adults with special health needs.
