LEAD TEACHER – SUPERVISING A SPECIAL EDUCATION CLASSROOM –CAPE COD, MA
ABOUT NECC: The New England Center for Children (NECC) is currently hiring a certified special education teacher for a supervisory position that provides clinical and educational oversight for a Partner Program classroom for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) that is based in a public school. The NECC Partner Program is a program model that is implemented in partnership with the housing school district and is grounded in the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).ABOUT THE POSITION: The Lead Teacher in this classroom will provide direction and leadership for a team of school district employed paraeducators. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership and supervision for a Partner Program Classroom with up to 7 learners and paraeducators.
- Special education case management for learners in the classroom
- Leadership, training, and coaching for the paraeducators in the classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide quality inclusion opportunities for the learners in the classroom
- Work cooperatively with school personnel (principal, general Ed. and special Ed. staff)
- Work closely and supportively with families
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master’s Degree preferred
- MA licensed special educator (or out of state license eligible for reciprocity)
- Prior supervisory experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in the application of the principles of ABA
- Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills and proven leadership ability
