The Special Education Teacher is directly supervised by the Program Specialist. The Special Education Teacher role oversees all aspects of 8-11 student IEP who are in a Residential Program and the following specific leadership responsibilities. 
ABOUT YOU: You are a teacher with a Master’s Degree in Special Education who has exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills and proven leadership qualities. =
Monday - Friday: 40 hours per week

Special Education Teacher General Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate development and implementation of student IEP’s  
  • Attend IEP meetings 
  • Review and edit student progress reports 
  • Oversee alternate assessments (including MCAS) 
  • Oversee completion of Core Skills Activity Assessment 
  • Participate in the development of Student Educational Curriculum  
  • Classroom Schedule Development 
  • Classroom Maintenance 
  • Supervise Curriculum development  
  • Attend Special Education Teacher meetings and training.   
  • Meet weekly with Program Specialist to review classroom progress.   
Special Education Teacher  Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Completion of Master's Degree program  
  • Initial Massachusetts Licensure in severe special education 
  • Preferred prior supervisory experience or experience demonstrated proficiency in the application of the principles of ABA.   
  • Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, and proven leadership ability are a must for this position. 
  • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
