The Special Education Teacher is directly supervised by the Program Specialist. The Special Education Teacher role oversees all aspects of 8-11 student IEP who are in a Residential Program and the following specific leadership responsibilities.

Monday - Friday: 40 hours per week

Special Education Teacher General Responsibilities:
- Coordinate development and implementation of student IEP’s
- Attend IEP meetings
- Review and edit student progress reports
- Oversee alternate assessments (including MCAS)
- Oversee completion of Core Skills Activity Assessment
- Participate in the development of Student Educational Curriculum
- Classroom Schedule Development
- Classroom Maintenance
- Supervise Curriculum development
- Attend Special Education Teacher meetings and training.
- Meet weekly with Program Specialist to review classroom progress.
Special Education Teacher Skills & Qualifications:

- Completion of Master's Degree program
- Initial Massachusetts Licensure in severe special education
- Preferred prior supervisory experience or experience demonstrated proficiency in the application of the principles of ABA.
- Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, and proven leadership ability are a must for this position.
Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
