About the POSITION: NECC is seeking to fill full-time Vocational Counselor OR Recreational Therapist positions. Employees in these roles will work under the supervision of the team coordinators and specialists, while teaching, tutoring, and providing instruction through the implementation of the scientific principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) across all hours and environments to the students. Vocational Counselors will work with students aged 14 years and older and are involved in the design and implementation of vocational programs and job readiness training. Recreational Therapists will also work in conjunction with adapted physical education specialists to design and implement leisure and recreation programs for students on the team.

Vocational Counselor or Recreational Therapist Responsibilities
- Teaching as part of a team of professionals to maximize students’ skills and independence
- Implementing educational programs and behavior management guidelines in 1:1 and small group formats
- Utilizing behavior analytic teaching procedures across classroom, community, and residential settings
- Instructing students in general curriculum areas, communication, social skills, activities of daily living (I.e. personal hygiene), vocational, adaptive physical education, and self-preservation.
Vocational Counselor or Recreational Therapist Skills & Responsibilities
- Must be a citizen of Canada or Mexico
- Willing and able to relocate and work in the Southborough, MA, USA area
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
- Interest in working with children and young adults
- Ability to obtain US driver's license and access to personal vehicle
- Successful completion of NECC required trainings
- CALM safety training: Physical requirements of the job include extensive movement to provide physical intervention in response to challenging behavior
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to carry out written and verbal instructions
- Ability to be flexible with an ever-changing work environment
